Class Policies & Procedures
Come to class and be ready to learn and start working on the daily
Starter Problem
.
Class participation is a negotiated grade between each student and myself. It is based upon:
how well you behave in class?
how hard you work on classwork?
how well you work on work assigned outside of class?
how well you learn to ask insightful questions?
how well you follow directions?
how well you follow class procedures?
how well you help other students?
how much you contribute electronically to the class wiki?
how well are you progressing on Khan Academy drills?
The class determines when they are ready to take a test (there are NO retakes)
There is a brief pop quiz almost every day
There is not regular drill-oriented homework for the entire class
homework in other forms may be given (i.e., videos, projects, etc.)
homework will be given to individual students who need specific extra work
homework will also be given based on a parents' request
Grades are: 20% projects/tests, 55% quizzes, 15% class participation, 10% individual project
Quizzes with scores of 95+ are weighted at 120%
Quizzes with scores of 70 or lower are weigthed at 50%
All other quiz scores are weighted at 100%
